PP Preparatory Process

Council 2021 agreed on strengthening the inter-regional preparatory process and on holding inter-regional preparatory meetings.

The first informal inter-regional preparatory meeting for PP-22 was held on Monday, 28 March 2022, from 13.00 to 14.30 at ITU Headquarters. Regional coordinators and the Chairs of preparatory groups joined this first meeting, which was chaired by Mr Sabin Sărmaș, the PP-22 Chair-designate. Remote participation was provided. All of the regional groups were represented and gave presentations on the preparations in their regions. APT and CEPT also shared slides with the meeting.

The second informal inter-regional preparatory meeting was held on Sunday, 5 June 2022, from 13.30 to 16.30 in Kigali, Rwanda, with remote participation. All regional groups were represented and gave updates on the preparations in their regions. The presentations can be found here: APT, ATU, CEPT, RCC, Arab States, and CITEL.

The third informal inter-regional preparatory meeting was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, 30-31 August 2022, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with remote participation. The ITU secretariat presented an update to preparations, and the Host Country shared the latest of its preparations as well. The secretariat also gave a presentation on the financial plan 2024-2027.
